Although the methodology is somewhat different for Consumer awards and the Fleet awards, both approaches start by looking at the cost to own and operate vehicles using eight different measurements:  Depreciation, Fees & Taxes,  Financing, Fuel, Insurance, Maintenance, Opportunity Cost, and Repairs.
